The in School Eye Exam (iSee) program provides eye exams to students identified by school nurses as needing follow-up vision care. The Ohio Optometric Foundation works in conjunction with school districts to organize a two-day event in the school that provides eye exams and eyewear at no charge to students who are at risk academically because they need eye care.
Studies show that nearly 50% of the students referred from school vision screenings do not receive the needed follow-up care. The iSee program bridges that gap by bringing the eye examinations and eyewear directly to schools.
iSee events are provided at no cost. The services, equipment, and custom eyewear are generously donated from industry leaders. Doctors and staff volunteer their time to provide the exams and information for follow-up care if needed.
